MSA today released a notification advising customers not to modify, upgrade or refurbish MSA Redpoint Descender auto belay units, which are subject to an MSA recall notice of 12/23/2009.
MSA also advises against third party retrofits, which are a violation of federal consumer product safety laws. Companies offering refurbishments of MSA Redpoint Descenders are at risk of possible severe civil and criminal monetary sanctions.
