Construction Foreman

The Construction Foreman is the leader and manager of a crew responsible for the complete installation of climbing walls all over the country. Construction Foreman will be hands-on with all the processes utilized in climbing wall construction and must be able to teach these things to new crew members. Crew size can range from 2 to 8, and project duration can range from 1 week to several months. The Construction Foreman will spend the majority of the year traveling in the fast-paced industry. Transportation, lodging and per diem are provided.

Location: Around North America & Louisville, CO

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or foreman
  • 4+ years of professional hands-on construction skills
  • Ownership of basic tool belt-type personal tools
  • Steel erection/welding experience and/or shotcrete experience
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team
  • Commercial job site experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • An eye for craftsmanship with an ability to provide feedback to craftsmen
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage daily reports, schedules, expense tracking and payroll reporting
  • Ability and desire to lead a traveling and working lifestyle with varying work schedules including weekends
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs and work on your feet for 10-12 hours per day
  • Valid Driver’s license
Key Responsibilities:

Master the specialty skills and processes used and be able to train others in:

  • Welding using the SMAW (stick welding) process
  • Steel erection
  • Wood sheathing and finish carpentry
  • Application of top coatings including rock realistic painting
  • Shotcrete application and rock carving (preferred)
  • Various assembly and general construction skills
  • Operation of jobsite equipment including forklift, scissor lift, boom lift
Project Planning
  • Forward thinking experienced construction professional dedicated to planning ahead, anticipating construction conflicts and resolving issues before they become critical.
  • Review plans, design and key contract terms with Project Manager
  • Review sequence of construction, special details, special material or finishes and terminations to adjacent work or structures
  • Work with Project Manager to create, maintain and adhere to project schedule
  • Develop or review job packing list with Shop Manager and Project Manager to ensure all necessary materials and tools are delivered to the job site
  • Participate in communication with client or general contractor to review schedule, safety planning, and job requirements
Project Installation
  • Coordinate and manage schedule with Project Manager to meet budget and timeline.
  • Maintain daily communication with Project Manager on project status, including submitting daily reports and pictures
  • Manage rental equipment to meet budget
  • Manage materials and deliveries to meet project schedule
  • Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
Team Management
  • Conduct daily kickoff meetings and weekly safety meeting
  • Direct all crew activities, providing onsite training as needed
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of crew members
Client and Job Site Relations
  • Act as the primary point of contact with client while onsite. Manage client expectations and requests and communicate with the Project Manager
  • Manage the crew’s interaction and coordination with other trades
Process Improvement
  • Provide recommendations to improve installation process
  • Participate in project debriefs with Project Management. Share knowledge gained from each project to be applied to future installations
Perform other duties as assigned Compensation: Up to $80,000+

Construction Assistant Foreman

The Assistant Foreman is the second in command of a crew responsible for the complete installation of climbing walls all over the country. Assistant Foreman will be hands-on with all construction phases including layout, steel erection, welding, shape installation, painting, and hardware installation. They must be able to teach these skills to new crew members. Crew size can range from 3 to 10, and project duration can range from 1 week to several months. Assistant Foreman will spend the majority of the year traveling in this fast-paced industry.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional hands-on construction skills including ownership of basic tool belt-type personal tools. Trade certifications preferred.
  • Carpentry experience
  • Strong leadership skills. Experience managing a construction crew preferred.
  • Commercial job site experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively and quickly communicate with Foreman, crew, and client
  • An eye for craftsmanship. Ability to put visual elements in words and provide feedback to craftsmen.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage daily reports, schedules, expense tracking, and payroll reporting.
  • Ability and desire to lead a traveling and working lifestyle with varying work schedules including weekends
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs and work on your feet for 10 hours per day

Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint reading and layout
  • Welding using the SMAW (stick welding) process
  • Use of personal protective equipment and rope access systems
  • Panel installation and finish carpentry
  • Shotcrete application and rock carving (preferred)
  • Various hardware and general construction skills
  • Operation of jobsite equipment including forklift, scissor lift, boom lift
  • Solid knowledge of fasteners

Project Planning

  • Forward thinking experienced construction professional dedicated to planning ahead, anticipating construction conflicts and resolving issues before they become critical.
  • Review plans and design with Foreman
  • Review sequence of construction, special details, special material or finishes and terminations to adjacent work or structures
  • Work with Foreman to maintain and adhere to project schedule
  • Work with Foreman to develop and implement safety plans
  • Participate in packing list review and job site inventory to ensure all necessary materials and tools are delivered to the job site

Project Installation

  • Participate in daily morning meeting with Foreman to organize workflow and sequencing
  • Manage and supervise second shift or night work
  • Manage and supervise modular or small custom construction projects

Team Management

  • Direct crew activities as required by Foreman
  • Ensure the safety of workers and equipment
  • Motivate and develop construction team members
  • Communicate issues to Foreman and work together on solutions before they become critical.

Client and Jobsite Relations

  • Act as the primary point of client contact in the absence of the Foreman
  • Manage the crew’s interaction with other trades in the absence of the Foreman

Process Improvement

  • Provide recommendations to improve installation process, saving money and time
  • Participate in project debriefs with Project Management. Share knowledge gained from each project to be applied to future installations

Perform other duties as assigned


General Laborer

Eldorado Climbing Walls’ General Laborers assist the production teams in completing labor involved in creating our climbing walls and DIY products. In addition to shop labor, General Laborers may run errands and perform drop-offs and pickups for the company. Laborers get a broad sense of working in our various production departments, gaining experience before honing in on wood production or steel skills and abilities.

Location: Louisville, CO

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a laborer is a plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-motivation
  • Team orientation
  • Ability to lift 50 -100 lbs and stand, squat, or kneel for 8-10 hours at a time
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to drive shop vehicles (pickup truck & trailer, 26’ Box Truck) (No commercial license needed)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various labor tasks to assist in the production process
  • Perform drop-offs and pickups for the company
  • Drive our shop vehicles (pickup truck & trailer, 26’ Box Truck) (No commercial license needed)
  • Help clean and organize the shop and the yard
  • Assist in any other miscellaneous tasks assigned
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner, and always keep busy cleaning and organizing between tasks.
Compensation: $18/hr to start

Climbing Wall Construction Crew Member

Eldorado Climbing Walls’ Construction Crew Members install custom climbing walls large and small made of a variety of materials in facilities throughout North America. Crew sizes range from 3 to 10 members and projects last from one week to several months. Construction Crew Members must be proficient in many construction processes and techniques including carpentry, welding, plastering, shotcrete, and general construction. Ideal candidates will have a background in construction and a propensity for learning the details of specific types of Eldorado Climbing Walls.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of professional construction experience
  • 1+ carpentry experience and knowledge of woodworking tools
  • Ownership of basic tools and tool belt
  • Colorado residence
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while providing a high quality, aesthetically pleasing finished product
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation and team orientation
  • Ability to travel and live on the road 8 -10 months/year
  • Ability to lift 75lbs
  • Ability to work at height
  • Ability to work on your feet all day
  • Commercial job site experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans preferred
  • Welding, carpentry and concrete/plaster/shotcrete skills are a plus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading of trucks at job site (5%)
  • Staging of materials and tools at the job site (5%)
  • Installation of custom climbing walls using carpentry, welding, plastering and concrete skills (80%)
  • Creation and maintenance of a clean and safe job site (10%)
  • Represent Eldorado Climbing Walls in a professional manner
Compensation: Hourly wage commensurate with experience. Transportation, lodging and per diem are provided during projects.
